The virtual meeting chaired by the Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on the 12th of CBSE has been completed. During the meeting, the Center sought a written reply from all the states and directed them to submit the proposal in two days. After deliberating on these proposals, a decision can be taken by May 30. On June 1, the Education Minister will have a meeting with the CBSE, it is likely that a final decision will be taken in this meeting.
Exams may be held in July
No clear decision has been made about the examinations in the meeting. At the meeting, CBSE said that it could conduct the exam in the last week of June or in July. During this period, most states agreed in favor of the safe conduct of examinations. However, changes can be made to the examination pattern. According to media reports, all the states except Delhi agreed to the 12th examination.
No examination without vaccine
Regarding the 12th examination, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that at the present time when the corona vaccine is not available for children, the candidates and teachers are at risk of infection by conducting any examination. During this, in the meeting held with the Central Government, he demanded that vaccination should be made for all the children of 12th standard before the examination.
After considering the situation of Corona in the country, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has asked the Center to fix the dates of CBSE 12th examinations. At the same time, Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said that giving students a safe environment is our priority. We discussed this topic in a meeting held today with CBSE.
Meeting again on 1 June
The Education Minister will again hold a meeting with the CBSE on 1 June. According to sources, in the meeting on Sunday, CBSE has kept two options for the exam. Some media reports have claimed that there will be a 12th examination. Its dates and format are not yet decided. Dates may be announced on 1 June. At the same time, the decision to conduct 12th examination in the state has been left on his board.
Considering conducting only 3 subjects exams
Amid the second wave of the Corona epidemic, CBSE is considering taking the main subjects i.e. major subjects in class 12th. Only the 3 main subjects of Science, Commerce and Arts in 12th are being considered for examination. In other subjects, a marking formula can also be formed based on the numbers found on the main subjects.
It has also been said that students who are unable to give exams due to corona, should get another chance. The government postponed the 12th board exam due to the second wave of Corona.
Delhi government is not in favor of conducting exam
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the Center has given two proposals for the exam. One proposal is to have papers of selected subjects in the exam center. At the same time, the second proposal is to change the exam pattern and get them done in the school within one and a half hours. He said that the Delhi government is not in favor of conducting the 12th exam. We will write to the center about this.
Sisodia said that conducting the 12th examination without applying the vaccine to the students can prove to be a big mistake. 95% of 12th students are over 17 and half years of age. In such a situation, we should talk to the experts whether they can be given KoviShield or Kovaxin. The center should also talk to Pfizer about the vaccination of students.
