CBSE Students Given Second Chance to Register for NCHMCT Counselling
CBSE Special Opportunity for CBSE students to participate in the NCHMCT Counselling for admission to Hospitality-Based Courses.
In a recent circular issued by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), it has been announced that CBSE students who missed the NCHM Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2023 will have a second opportunity to register and participate in the counselling process. The decision was made by the NCHMCT’s Governing Body to facilitate CBSE students who were unable to appear for the exam.
The registration window is now open and will remain accessible until 11th July 2023 (AN) for interested students. To register, students must visit the official website of NCHMCT, www.nchm.nic.in, specifically the registration portal at https://nchmcounselling.nic.in.
During the registration process, students are required to fill out an online application form, providing their necessary credentials, including their marks obtained in the 12th examination. Additionally, they must pay a non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees two thousand only), similar to the NCHM JEE candidates.
A merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained by students in the 12th examination. The merit list, which will determine the eligibility of students to participate in the counselling process directly, will be declared on 13th July 2023 on the aforementioned website. In the case of a tie in the merit list, a tiebreaker formula based on age criteria will be implemented.
Once the merit list is released, students are required to fill in their choice of institute starting from 14th July 2023. Importantly, the registration window is not limited to current year pass outs, as students who passed in previous years can also avail themselves of this opportunity, given that there is no maximum age limit to enter the program.
CBSE-affiliated schools are urged to circulate this information among their 10+2 pass out students and encourage them to take advantage of this second chance to pursue higher studies in the field of the Hospitality Sector.
This initiative by NCHMCT aims to support CBSE students and provide them with equal opportunities to embark on a career in the thriving hospitality industry.
