 International Day of Yoga 2021 Jingle Contest

Ministry of AYUSH (MoA) is calling on the public at large to write and compose a Jingle for the upcoming International Day of Yoga, 2021 in the official Indian language as mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian constitution along with English and other UN languages.

The Jingle should be apt, relevant, and appealing. It should endeavor to drive awareness and adoption of Yoga by people of all ages. It should highlight the cause of Yoga to serve as a tool in the betterment of the health and wellbeing of the community, especially improving physical and mental health.

It must focus on encouraging people to participate in the observance of IDY, 2021 with their family and friends. To get more information on Yoga, IDY, and the various initiatives being undertaken by the MoA, participants can visit https://yoga.ayush.gov.in/


It may cover aspects like the importance of the regular practice of Yoga to boost the immunity level and combat COVID-19, as a stress buster, improving productivity at work, etc.

Competition brief:

Participants need to provide a script and a jingle of 25-30 seconds duration in any official Indian language as mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian constitution along with English and other UN languages- that is easily comprehensible, is peppy, and connects with the public at large.

The participants should upload their entry as a high-quality audio file to any media platform such as SoundCloud, YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., and enter the publicly accessible link in the comments section. The script also needs to be submitted in the form of a PDF document.


A cash prize of INR 25,000 will be given to one winning entry.

The last date of submission is 21st June 2021.

Share your ideas to celebrate the 7th International Day of Yoga at home

Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, owing to its demonstrated benefits towards immunity building and stress relief, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) proclaimed 21st June as the International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 11th December 2014. Since 2015, this day has been observed all over the world in ever-growing numbers, with the objective of reminding people across the globe about the benefits of Yoga, and to build enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to the public health.

The preparations for the 7th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2021) have already begun and the Ministry of AYUSH (MoA) is looking forward to active participation from the people. The event will be observed in compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines of the government, with a greater focus on digital activities. In these tough times, all are encouraged to “Be with Yoga, Be at Home”



With this backdrop, MoA invites all citizens to share their ideas on how people can plan to observe the 7th IDY at home with their friends and families while mobilizing the wider community to maintain the ethos of Yoga and ensure community wellbeing. These ideas can be further utilized by the Ministry in conduction different programs dedicated to building the enduring public interest in Yoga by highlighting its importance and contributions to public health

The world is gearing up to observe the 7th International Day of Yoga (IDY2021) on 21st June 2021, amidst a global pandemic that has forced everyone to stay indoors. The world is gearing up to observe the 7th International Day of Yoga (IDY2021) on 21st June 2021, amidst a global pandemic that has forced everyone to stay indoors. To bring the people together globally while inside their homes, and spread the message of traditional Yoga far and wide, for the betterment of both physical and mental health, the Ministry of Ayush is launching the “Be With Yoga, Be At Home” video campaign.

Through the “Be With Yoga, Be At Home” video campaign, the Ministry of Ayush seeks to raise awareness about traditional Yoga, and inspire people to prepare for and become active participants in the observation of IDY 2021. The campaign will support participation via MyGov and various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram in India. The campaign will include posting a video of up to 1-minute of participant practicing one Yogasana, with or without a small write-up from the participant.

The last date for the contest is 30th June 2021.
